Stephen Fussnecker

Stephen Fussnecker is the Project Manager for the Colorado Transportation Market

Hg Consult is pleased to announce that Stephen Fussnecker, PE has joined the firm as a Bridge Project Manager in the Colorado office. Stephen’s hire supplements Hg’s continued growth in the Colorado Transportation Market as well as provides additional capacity to the Bridge Design Unit. Stephen completed a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering at the University of Colorado – Denver with additional coursework in Structural Engineering.

Stephen grew up on a small family farm in southern Ohio until enlisting in the Army at the age of 18. After serving 4 years in the 7th Special Forces Group at Fort Bragg, NC, he moved to Colorado to take up snowboarding and mountain biking. He completed his degree attending school half-time while working full-time in a variety of positions including as a bicycle mechanic and interior remodeler. He later took a position with CDOT as a bridge detailer while finishing up his degree. Upon graduation he was promoted to an EIT in the Region 6 (now Region 1) Bridge Design Unit and was later appointed as the State Bridge Liaison for the Emergency Recovery following the 2013 floods in northern Colorado.

Stephen has worked as a consultant for the last nine years on many large scale and complex bridge projects around the country. He has also been involved with a significant number of bridge load ratings in various states. He has experience in Construction Engineering and proposal writing. He is licensed in CO, NM, AZ, WY, IN, and TX.
