Hg Consult Supports Deanna Rose Farmstead
Nathan Hladky of Hg’s Kansas City Office is currently in the Overland Park Chamber of Commerce’s Leadership Overland Park program. Leadership Overland Park (LOP) was established to develop leaders who are passionate about the future of their city and community. This leadership program informs and educates the future leaders of the region and prepares them to meet the challenges of today and tomorrow. Founded in 1983, Leadership Overland Park is a program of the OP Chamber Foundation and has graduated over 930 alumni. This year’s class has 38 members with a wide reaching backgrounds in the local community ranging from retail, healthcare, engineering, banking and public service. At the conclusion of each year, the classes select a local entity for a community service fundraising project. This year, the LOP class has selected Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead as a recipient of their class project. The class was approached by the Overland Park Host Lions Club to partner with them on this project that will have a lasting impact for patrons of Deanna Rose for years to come. The current signage at Deanna Rose needs to be replaced. There are signs that have the tactile braille coming off and have become damaged by the sun and the elements. Proceeds from our event will go towards replacing all those signs to increase accessibility and inclusiveness to both the visually impaired and the visually abled. Additional funds will be used for other accessibility improvements such as audio-domes, A/V equipment and potentially even facility upgrades to address ADA concerns.
A benefit event at Bourgmont Winery will be held in June that will include live music, heavy hors d’oeuvres, and a silent auction with all proceeds going to Deanna Rose.
