Tom is a bridge engineer with more than 30 years of experience. The bulk of his experience is bridge design, bridge feasibility studies, inspection of existing bridges and project management. He has experience with the design of highway, movable and railroad bridges, retaining walls, box culverts, and several railroad service facilities.
Highway bridge experience includes both fixed and moveable bridges for municipal and state department of transportation clients. He has served as bridge engineer and project manager on numerous highway bridge projects ranging from three span grade and stream separation structures to cable stayed Mississippi river crossings and design of new movable bridge structures. He has also worked on preliminary bridge design incorporated into NEPA planning projects.
Railroad bridge experience includes both fixed and moveable railway bridges for freight and commuter rail clients. He has served as bridge engineer and project manager on a large number of projects including standard timber, concrete and steel spans, as well as, major railway structures across the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. His expertise encompasses bridge planning studies, preliminary and detailed design of new structures, as well as, the inspection, load rating, and capacity improvements of existing railway bridges.
