Greene County, MO and MoDOT - Springfield, MO

Greene County hired Hg Consult to complete an Environmental Assessment for extending the existing Kansas Expressway south of the James River Expressway 2.4 miles to just north of the James River. The Kansas Extension is planned to be a new four-lane divided primary arterial. Environmental concerns, economic development activity, and public feedback are all being considered in the process. Hg Consult just finished writing the draft EA, performed the hazardous materials assessment, community impact assessment, traffic analysis, farmland impacts, socioeconomic/environmental justice impacts, cumulative effects, structural design tasks, and assisted in the public involvement efforts.

MoDOT - Kansas City, MO

Hg Consult was an integral part of the team charged with preparing a 2nd Tier EIS for the proposed improvement of existing Interstate 70 from the downtown Kansas City loop to the Blue Ridge cutoff interchange. Hg Consult created numerous conceptual interchange alternatives to be used in a comparison study to determine a preferred corridor improvement alternative for Interstate 70. In addition, Hg Consult provided assistance in the drafting of the environmental documentation and public outreach.

Hg Consult led the environmental permitting task for the replacement of two existing Missouri River bridges utilizing a design/build project delivery method. Permits included: Levee permits; Floodplain No-Rise Certificates; Floodplain Development Permit; Stream Obstruction Permit; Section 401 Water Quality Permit; Section 402 Land Disturbance Permits; Section 404 Wetlands Permit; Stormwater Pollution Prevention and Erosion Control Plans; National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System Permit; USFWS Migratory Bird Act and Informal Section 7 coordination; Section 9 Bridge Permit; KDHE potential hazardous waste handling/disposal; FAA No Hazard to Air Navigation Clearance; State Historic Preservation Officer Section 106 Clearance; Section 4(f) Concurrence; and KDHE Well Abandonment.

KCMO Water Services - Kansas City, MO

Hg Consult conducted a Phase I Environmental Site Assessment (ESA) in accordance with the American Society of Testing and Materials (ASTM) Standard Practice for the purchase of a property by the Kansas City, MO Water Services Department (WSD). The 3.8 acre property is located in the KCMO Northeast Industrial District, an area with over a century of industrial development, and formerly utilized as a metal recycling facility. The WSD is seeking to purchase the property for the construction of a stormwater detention basin in association with its Overflow Control Program.
